A fascinating memoir

This is a fascinating memoir written by a respected physician who pioneered many life-saving advances in medicine after WWII. The book demonstrates clearly that success doesn't only come to those who memorize easily--those with process minds, coupled with curiosity and determination, can succeed and do make major contributions to society, although sometimes as unsung heroes. Life lessons learned in childhood, pre-WWII round-the-world travel on a bicycle, the rigors of medical training and the challenges of being on the front lines in WWII all helped shape his life and medical career and continue to bring value and joy to every day.

Inspirational

A Process Mind is a great trip back through the 20th century in the San Francisco Bay area and beyond, from a doctor's unique perspective. More than that, it's a window into the values, motives and life lessons of a man who's highest goal was to be "effective".
Surprisingly engaging and readable, even with the technical midsection (which should prove thought provoking to those in the medical field), this book contains wisdom, and an inspiring encouragement toward innovation. I loved it!
