DIe or Live, Read This To Stay Alive

Suicidal thoughts have gripped my world for longer than I care to remember. I have sought counseling, taken medication, and talked to loved ones, and have always been left with the singular thought that I am alone and my problems are not only irreparable but a burden for others. Angerona S. Love changed this with her book, When Darkness Comes: Saying "No" To Suicide. As I read about her personal struggles and her cycles between wanting to die and struggling to stay alive, I realized that she had been there. Her hand written journal excerpts, often only two or three lines, seemed to be ripped straight from my own mind, gave me strength because she had been where I stood and she had survived. Ms. Love assured me that there is a difference to the way I feel and what I am, and that has given me strength to move forward. On my darkest days, I read excerpts from the book to remind me that "Maybe it is remotely possible I won't always feel this way," and that is enough.

A light to guide one on the edge

Angerona's book helped me to fully understand why a person would want to leave the earth plane. It inspired me to purchase a few books for a couple of friends of mine who have experienced loss of a love or moments of despair. I enjoyed her unabashed honesty on a subject that no one wants to talk about. When you are down and out it is so important to resonate with someone who understands. Angerona offers shines a light of hope and hope is the way out of dark moments. I would recommend buying a few to keep on hand when you just can't reach someone who could use someone that understands what it's like to be really alone and desperate and yet finds a way out.
